Professor Skeith has held various positions in healthcare informatics in hospital, home health, and health information technology vendor settings for over 20 years. She was appointed to and served on the inaugural Informatics Nurse Certification Exam’s Test Development Committee for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (subsidiary of the American Nurses Association) and is a Board Certified Informatics Nurse.

Skeith, while residing in Florida, founded and chaired the Florida Nurses Association’s Informatics Focus Group, co-authored Association nursing informatics-related position statements, and served on the Association’s Universal Nursing Languages Committee. She has presented at nursing informatics conferences, including the Summer Institute for Nursing Informatics, and is published in Public Health Nursing and the Journal of Hospital Librarianship.
