Carolyn Martin

VP and Chief Human Resources Officer


Before joining Mount Ida in 2017, Carolyn Martin held the title of Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Multiplan, Inc., the largest U.S. provider of transaction-based healthcare cost-containment programs that serve the commercial and government healthcare markets.

Ms. Martin joined Private Healthcare Systems, Inc. in 1998 as a Staff Attorney focusing on contract negotiation and employment law. After working in the legal department for seven years, she accepted a management position in the company’s Human Resources Department. Following Multiplan’s purchase of Private Healthcare Systems in 2007, she was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources, and then advanced to Senior Vice President in 2011. In her role, Ms. Martin oversaw all Human Resources functions within the organization, including recruitment and staffing, employee relations, employee training and development, compensation and benefits, and HR information management. As the individual that led the Human Resources function for Multiplan during a tremendous period of growth and transformation, with the company acquiring five companies in five years, she has extensive experience in integration activities and implementing Human Resources best practices to support optimal organizational performance. Prior to joining Private Healthcare Systems, she held an Associate Counsel position at Citizens Bank in Providence, Rhode Island.

Ms. Martin received her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts and her J.D. from University of Massachusetts School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and is a member of the New England Human Resources Association and the Society for Human Resources Management.
