Sonia Jurado is the Director of Equity Compliance for Mount Ida College. She serves as the Title IX and 504 Coordinator for the College. In her role, Sonia conducts investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking. She is responsible for revising and developing the College’s policies regarding those issues. Sonia also conducts training for students, staff and faculty regarding discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct.
Previously, Sonia was the Title IX Investigator for Tufts University where she conducted investigations into allegation of discrimination, harassment and sexual assault. Sonia was also responsible for writing policy and developing training at Tufts for student, staff and faculty. Before that, Sonia was a practicing employment attorney in Boston working as in-house Corporate Employment Counsel for Liberty Mutual. Sonia began her career in private practice in Chicago, Illinois working as an employment litigation attorney.
Sonia is a 1993 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign and received her law degree from Loyola University School of Law in 1997.
