Campus Safety

Your Safety is Our Main Concern

We provide the safest environment for living, learning and working every day of the year.

The safety and well-being of the Mount Ida community is a top priority.

The Mount Ida College Police Department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Our officers patrol the campus grounds, respond to incidents as they arise and participate in proactive efforts to educate the community in order to reduce opportunities for crime and public safety concerns.

We take great pride that our hometown of Newton, Massachusetts has been featured as one of the top 10 safest cities in the United States throughout the past decade.

Additionally, Mount Ida complies with state and federal law, including Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (as amended) (“Title IX”), which requires that no person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in any educational program or activity of the College.  The College is also subject to Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act (as amended), which prohibits sex discrimination in employment.
