The Division of Student Affairs

Connections to Resources and Experiences

The Division of Student Affairs is composed of six departments and over 20 functional areas. The 40-plus professionals in the Division of Student Affairs strive to bring meaningful experiences to student life that challenge, engage and stretch our students outside of the classroom. Staff members are dedicated to maximizing their impact on our small campus, by providing individualized service and care to our students.

Vice President of Student Affairs

Laura DeVeau

Her expertise is in the areas of Residence Life, Staff Recruitment, Marketing, Strategic Planning, Leadership and Student Engagement. A graduate of Boston University’s School of Education and College of Communication, she holds a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration.

Laura De Veau assumed the role of Vice President for Student Affairs in April 2013.

Ms. De Veau is past-president of the Massachusetts Association for Women in Education, a position she held for four (4) years, and a former member of the A.C.E. Massachusetts Office of Women in Higher Education board.

She has been a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators since 1991 and has received numerous awards and opportunities including recognition as Outstanding Mid-Level Professional, Massachusetts Program of the Year and Service to NASPA Award. She co-founded the NASPA Region 1 New Professional Mentoring Institute and was elected to Massachusetts State Director and served as a faculty member of the NASPA Manicur Symposium in 2015.

Ms. DeVeau has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus from 2007 to 2014 including two years as Vice President and one year as its first female President, where she implemented a strategic plan that ultimately moved the organization to a point of greater financial health.

As a champion for victim’s rights, Ms. De Veau received the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center’s Champion of Change award in 2008.

A graduate of Boston University’s School of Education and College of Communication, she holds a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration.
